I know I say it a lot, but life on a farm can get messy.  I continually strive to keep our lives and home as minimalist as possible.  I spend a lot of time streamlining the functionality of furniture and exploring new storage options.  I try to eliminate things in our evolving home that are not working for our space whether it’s basic clutter or part of the home’s infrastructure.  If we add anything to the farmhouse, we are careful about our decisions, and we aim to make better choices as homeowners and global citizens.  Home renovation is a great place to start making excellent choices!  Over the next few months, we are embarking on our farmhouse kitchen remodel, and if you want to do a remodel right you start with the walls!  As a family, We will be partnering with  PURPLE high-performance drywall to showcase the quality and solutions that Purple drywall has to offer in various applications.

Mold and mildew in the home have always been a concern for me.  On a farm, the amount of foot traffic, filthy hands coming through to wash, muddy toddler clothes, rainstorms in the windowsill, spilled water cups, and sink splashes can all lead to hidden mold and mildew around the kitchen wall areas.  Our homestead kitchen is the hub of activity and life here on the farm.  So we decided to start in the kitchen with PURPLE high-performance drywall.

PURPLE high-performance drywall caught my eye as a brand because the drywall is resistant to mold and mildew.  When I heard this, I was sold.  This is huge as we consider to replace the walls in our kitchen.  We would like for this kitchen renovation to last a lifetime, and with a product like PURPLE XP® drywall which will resist the presence of mold and mildew indefinitely, it’s one less thing to think about as our children grow up.  PURPLE XP® also offers drywall that is 100% recycled, and that makes me feel even more thankful for this product. PURPLE XP® offers other home building solutions including water, sound, everyday abuse, and major impact.  They also provide soundproof ceiling boards for second story sound issues!

I can rest assured that the products installed in my home are helping to keep our family safe by working against hidden pathogens that can potentially pollute the air that the kids, Brady and I breathe on an everyday basis.  I will be documenting our family’s journey of the installation of PURPLE XP® drywall so be on the lookout for more updates!

PURPLE XP® drywall  is available at most recognizable home renovation stores, ask for PURPLE!

Check out all the awesome products!
