This is a sponsored post, however, quality water is very important to us as a family and all opinions are my own.

Life on a farm teaches the importance of water through lessons and hardships.  Most rural households end up on a well water system bringing water up from the ground. Several generations back, this would have been the most purified water available. Over time, more and more people have moved into the same area and well water becomes questionable. With lawn runoff, leaky septic systems and pollution in general, the safety of well water is a thing of the past.

We choose to refill our bottles when we go into town at the Primo refill station outside our H-E-B. We usually end up at the grocery store together, so refilling water becomes a family affair! Have you ever noticed that rack of 5-gallon water bottles when you go into H-E-B? We fill up our bottles there several times a week. Primo water goes through a purification process that includes reverse osmosis, multi-step purification and sterilization. Exchange water has added minerals for freshness.

I spend a lot of time talking to my kids about diet and nutrition, and water is an important part of their daily habits.  As parents, we issue each child one stainless steel insulated reusable water bottle and talk about how many times they should fill it up in a day in order to drink enough water. The amount of water needed varies depending on the kids’ activities. If there are sports practices, it’s important to refill more frequently. I learned that adding a water dispenser to the home increases water consumption by 25%.  I can use all the help when it comes to getting kids to drink more water.

The amount of single use water bottles it would take to keep our family hydrated is unreasonable and the walls of single-use plastic water bottles in the big box stores makes me cringe. It makes me feel good knowing when we switched to Primo water that we are no longer contributing to the overabundance of single use plastics on the world. Each 5-gallon bottle saves up to 1,100 single-use bottles from the landfill, the oceans and, our planet.

Our pets are just as important as family members so we chose the Primo water dispenser with a pet watering station. One of the kids’ favorite things to do is help out in the kitchen and this makes it so easy to make sure the dogs and cats always have water available, especially in the hottest summer months when everyone is coming in to cool off frequently.Primo lets you pick the dispenser that is right for your family’s needs. They all have a hot and cold function which has been awesome for coffee in the morning! Our .Deluxe Top Loading Dispenser with Pet Station caters to our pets’ hydration and makes it so simple for the kids to help keep the water bowl full with the tap of a button. So much of our homestead kitchen is set up so that the small children are able to help with tasks and the Deluxe Top Loading Dispenser with Pet Station fits right into our family’s daily lifestyle.

Exchange and Refill Primo water can be found at found at most big-box retail stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Kroger or any other store. We use the refill water dispenser right outside of our HEB when we buy groceries because its convenient to throw the water jug in the cart and refill it at the store. Its easy to transport the bottles in the car with a cap from the Primo website. As a family, we like to drink big and drink healthy and water quality is important for our pets also. We switched to Primo water beacause there is no second guessing that it is safe the way we would be concerned about harmful well water or tap water. Primo Water dispensers are available in stores and online and you can find a refill or exchange station for water with the zip-code locator on the Primo website. Im documenting my water journey and I am interested to see the change and benefits of this water at the end of 30 days. Our dogs will be joining us on this water journey and I encourage you to do so also!
