Our Relaxing Hill Country Escape at Behrends Family Homestead, Fredericksburg, TX
Just off Wine Road 290 in Fredericksburg, the Behrends Family Homestead is the perfect blend of Texas Hill Country history and modern luxury — and I can honestly say our family had one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had in a long time.
We stayed in The Oswald, a beautifully restored 1914 farmhouse named after Oswald Behrends, the original settler of this land. One of my favorite touches? The pecan trees he grafted, still producing nuts today 🌰 — little living reminders of the Homestead’s rich history.
A Home Away From Home
From the moment we arrived, we felt at ease. The home is pet-friendly, so our pups Bitsy and Koda came along 🐾 and loved exploring the grounds as much as we did. Every corner of The Oswald feels thoughtfully designed — spaces for connection, relaxation, and celebration.
