Things To Do With Your Kids When You Are Stuck Inside

If you have kids then at some point you will get stuck indoors with them, and the time can be hard to fill. Kids can be hard to appease at the best of times never mind when they are stuck inside bored, this is why having things you can do inside and keep them busy is key to making sure they are happy and so are you. 

It can be tricky to find things to do that could make sure that the attention of older children can be held while also making it so that the younger children can get involved too. So here are a few things you can do to help you with those days stuck in with the kids.

Treasure hunts

You can design treasure hunts around your home where you draw up a map of the house and have various things hidden around the house and have the children hunt them down. You can make the items either random or get some toys and treats to hide to make them more interested in the hunt. You can even play dress-up at the same time and make it pirate-themed.

Try some science experiments

Children can love trying out cool experiments, and there are plenty of simple science experiments that you can do at home. It helps them express some creativity and also helps with their curiosity too. 

Arts and crafts

Arts and crafts are great for kids of all ages, so while the older children are busy getting along with some art you can help the younger ones create some sensory arts and crafts which they love as it gives them a chance to get nice and messy. It gives the children a great chance to express themselves no matter the age which will help them with their brain development and mental health. Either get creative with lots of paint or create models of all sorts with clay and plasticine.

Play Games!

This one can be more for the older kids dependent on the game but games are great things to do when stuck inside. Things like monopoly, scrabble and ludo can make great pass times. Some people do not play games like scrabble as they find that the children may find them too hard, but you can get children editions and also you can get a scrabble cheat to help them find words with the letter they have to make sure they can still get involved and enjoy it. Games like kerplunk and happy hippos etc. are great for children and passing the time, kids can get bored however so try to have a few to try out.
