A Family Affair for Christmas Light Fest at Enchanted Springs Ranch I Hill Country Homestead Texas

There are a lot of exciting things to do around the Boerne and San Antonio area this time of year. The shops, hotels, and restaurants on Main Street, lined with glowing seasonal lights, offer plenty of attraction and are part of a proper Texas Hill Country tour. Hop away from Haupstrausse, on a quick 9-minute drive to Enchanted Springs Ranch and your in for a winter wonderland surprise. Just off Highway 46 towards Bandera a dazzling front lawn invites visitors into Boerne’s most colorful event, Christmas Light Fest at Enchanted Springs Ranch. We visited as a family this week and we were in awe of how magical it was. The weather was perfect for strolling outside along the streets of the Old Western Town and having a cup of cocoa. There were sights, sounds and smells of Christmas luring visitors in and out of old shabby chic western buildings and plenty of activities to accommodate young and old visitors alike. This event is open Thursday through Sunday 6 PM- 10 PM and starting December 22nd Every Night. If coming from San Antonio exit 540 on Interstate 10 in Boerne and go west young man, you won't regret it.t be disappointed.

Boerne is a city in and the county seat of Kendall County, Texas, United States, within the Texas Hill Country.

Come out and enjoy holiday games and enjoy holiday flavors. We took our teenagers and our toddlers and both ages were thrilled with the entire event. The younger kids favorite attractions were play pretending in all the old western buildings, lovingly covered in dazzling lights and Christmas decor. We enjoyed pictures with Santa, with complimentary online prints, a scavenger hunt with prizes and a toddler hay maze. The older children took advantage of the horseshoe, corn hole, fire pit, and roasting marshmallows. Hot cocoa, coffee, beer, and wine were perfect pairings to the evening and atmosphere.

There is also a variety of vendors with lovingly handmade, handcrafted, and local items offering a wonderful gift shopping experience. Living in the country we naturally appreciated the western theme and took full advantage of all the wonderful photo opportunities. Christmas Light Fest is an Insta dream! Make sure you make it out to Enchanted Springs Ranch during the holiday season, even if you do it for the Gram!

Driving west on 46, you won't be able to miss the illuminated sign guiding patrons through the popular and extravagant light tunnel. This is truly a spectacle to be seen, everyone in the car was silenced by the magic of it, which is a wonder in itself for my kids. There is a pleasantly decorated drive to the main buildings where you go to park and get out and about to explore the millions of dazzling Christmas lights on foot.

Greeted by a true cowboy at the gate of the town, he welcomes visitors and immediately invites children to a scavenger hunt for posters, hidden among the western town walls, depicting the beloved resident Longhorn’s that graze at Enchanted Springs ranch. Enjoy exploring the inside of over 40 historical western buildings that have been used in films, documentaries, and commercials while looking for missing pieces of the puzzle and enjoy a reward when you turn in a completed scavenger hunt card.

The food and beverage options are perfect to indulge in while taking in the authentic Texas Christmas experience. All the holiday feels ring true at Light Fest with Christmas shopping, warming hands by the crackling of the oversized rustic fire pit, and roasting marshmallows as a family off the back of a historic chuck wagon. Engage in all the normal tourist activities with plenty of photo opportunities and photo props.
